Mom-led
Founded by a mom and teacher, trusted by families across Canada
Vaughan's English public schools belong to York Region District School Board, which had 126,879 students in 216 schools in October 2025. Catholic and French-language boards serve the whole region too, so tell your tutor which school your child attends.
Your province's curriculumCertified educators only
The curriculum, the tests, the school boards and the French options your child's tutor will work with.
Schools follow the Ontario curriculum. Elementary students bring home a progress report in the fall, then report cards in winter and June. Bring the latest one to your first lesson so the tutor can start from the teacher's comments.
EQAO checks reading, writing and math in Grades 3 and 6, and math in Grade 9. In Grade 10, students write the OSSLT, the literacy test they need to pass for the Ontario diploma.
YRDSB runs English public schools and York Catholic DSB runs English Catholic schools. Conseil scolaire Viamonde and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir run French-language schools for families across York Region.
At YRDSB, French Immersion begins in Grade 1, and you don't need to speak French at home. Students in the English program start Core French in Grade 4.
