Despite the abundance of tutoring apps available, the field of tutoring remains unregulated, granting individuals the opportunity to become tutors without specific requirements. At Connect Education Inc, our main focus is to ensure the safety of children while simultaneously providing parents with access to a pool of qualified professionals within the regulated domain of education.
A good lesson needs two things: a family that can trust the teacher, and a teacher who is treated as a professional. We built Connect Education around both.
Connect Education was founded by a teacher and a parent. One saw how hard it was for families to find a tutor they could trust. The other saw how little control teachers had over their own tutoring work.
Anyone can call themselves a tutor, with no training or checks required. That is why we only accept certified teachers: people trained to teach, who know the curriculum and are checked before they ever meet a student.
A tutor's working conditions shape a student's learning conditions. When teachers keep control of their own work, they can give each student their full attention, and that is what families notice.
Our head office is in Toronto, and we work with families and certified teachers across Canada. Lessons follow your province's curriculum, whether they happen online, at home or at a public library.

Single mom of two, former healthcare IT executive who installed life-saving software in 23 countries with 24 years of leadership and mentoring, leads Connect Education as a Founder and CEO. Community Advocate that wants to help parents and teachers come together for one common goal.
CO-FOUNDER
Marilou is a teaching specialist with qualifications in Primary and Junior Mathematics and additional qualifications in French as a Second Language and Special Education. She has a bachelor's degree in French and Latin American studies and a passion for early years education and language acquisition.

Certified teachersAcross CanadaConnect Education was founded by a teacher and a parent: Marilyn Solano, Founder and CEO, and Marilou Lopes, Co-founder. They saw how hard it was for families to find qualified, trustworthy tutors, and how little control teachers had over their own tutoring work.
Every tutor on Connect Education is a licensed teacher in good standing, and every one is background-checked. That includes specialists for IEPs, ADHD, ASD and dyslexia, and teachers for ESL and French.
Tutoring is unregulated, so anyone can call themselves a tutor. We only accept certified teachers, so your child works with someone trained to teach, who knows the curriculum and has been checked before they ever meet a student.
Our head office is in Toronto, and we work with families and teachers across Canada. Lessons run online anywhere in the country, in person, or at a local public library.
Teachers set their own rates and their own schedule, and choose the students they work with. We bring them families who are already looking for help, and handle the matching, scheduling and payments so they can focus on teaching.
