Homework apps and AI can hand your child the answer, and many learning centres give every child the same worksheets in a busy room. Mom-led
Founded by a mom and teacher, trusted by families across Canada
At Halton District School Board, French Immersion starts in Grade 2, a year later than in many Ontario boards, after a year of Core French in Grade 1. If your child is about to make that switch, a tutor can help them settle in.

The curriculum, the tests, the school boards and the French options your child's tutor will work with.
Halton schools teach the Ontario curriculum. In elementary school you get a fall progress report, a winter report card and a June report card. The teacher's comments are the best place for a tutor to start.
EQAO assesses reading, writing and math in Grades 3 and 6, and math in Grade 9. The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test follows in Grade 10 and is a diploma requirement.
HDSB runs English public schools and Halton Catholic DSB runs English Catholic schools, with over 36,000 students in 48 elementary and 10 secondary schools. Viamonde runs French public schools, including École élémentaire Patricia-Picknell in Oakville, and MonAvenir runs French Catholic schools.
HDSB Immersion students learn fully in French in Grade 2, 80% in Grade 3 and half the day from Grades 4 to 8. Every student takes Core French from Grade 1.
