Frequently asked questions

Have questions? We are here to help.

Are the teachers qualified?

+

All the educators on our platform are certified teachers or early childhood educators in good standing with their professional regulatory college. This means they are highly trained, educated, and experienced with completed background checks. We do our best to validate our teachers but still urge parents to do their due diligence before hiring a teacher.

How do I find the right teacher or ECE for me?

+

Create a profile with as much detail as possible. This makes it easier for teachers to learn about you and your needs and will ensure a better match. Use the filters to search for tutors that can provide what you're looking for.

Tutoring is expensive, how does pricing work?

+

We recognize that financial constraints can be a reality for many families. That's why we put you in control - you determine what you can afford, and we'll seamlessly connect you with qualified educators who fit your budgetary needs.

How does scheduling work?

+

Your availability for scheduling the tutoring dates are a criteria you set during the matching process. This ensures that the teachers you are matched with have availability during the schedule you have requested.

+

Our hope is that you will never have to cancel an agreement with your teacher, but if you have to, please refer to our Cancellations & Rescheduling Policy.

+

There is no cost to join our community. However, once a contract is agreed upon, we have a 15% processing fee that comes out of the total amount charged by the educator. This fee covers any admin fees and platform fees. Remember, we do all the administrative work for you through the platform.

What happens if the teacher decides to cancel the contract?

+

We discourage canceling contracts unless necessary. Teachers must abide by their agreement to teach students. If there is a medical issue or any other issue that cannot be resolved, please go through the dispute resolution process so we can help you find a different educator. Please refer to our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.

How many lessons do I need to purchase?

+

Our system requires a minimum of 4 lessons, and there is not limit on the amount of lessons you can book or extend with a teacher. We do this to ensure effective learning. In many cases, 4 hours of tutoring is considered the minimum amount of time needed to make a significant impact on a student's learning. With this amount of time, the tutor can work with the student to identify areas of weakness, develop a personalized learning plan, and provide ample opportunity for practice and feedback. This can lead to more effective learning outcomes for the student.
