What tutoring looks like on Connect Education
As a tutor on our platform, you can:
- Support students one on one, online, and in some cases in person, depending on location and fit
- Set your availability and rates
- Work with families looking for reliable, curriculum aligned support
- Reduce admin time, scheduling and payments are streamlined through our platform
- Focus on teaching, relationship, and student confidence
Eligibility requirements
To tutor with Connect Education, you must meet at least one of the categories below and be able to provide verification.
Certified Teacher or Registered Early Childhood Educator in Canada
You are eligible if you are:
- A certified teacher in Canada, in good standing, with certification recognized by your provincial or territorial Ministry of Education and applicable regulatory body
- A Registered Early Childhood Educator in Canada, in good standing, recognized by the appropriate provincial or territorial body
Additional eligible categories
We also welcome applications from the following education professionals, subject to review and verification:
- Professor in a university, with proof of current appointment or credentials
- Student in Teachers College, with proof of enrollment in an accredited program and a clear scope of tutoring support you can provide
- Behaviour Analyst, with proof of credentialing and defined services aligned to student learning support
Note: Eligibility does not guarantee approval. All profiles are reviewed to ensure learner safety, quality, and alignment with family needs.
Required documentation
Police Verification, Vulnerable Sector
All tutors must provide a valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check, sometimes called a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Your document must:
- Be issued in Canada
- Match your legal name
- Be clear and readable, full document included
- Be valid at the time of submission
If you are unsure which check to request, ask your local police service for a Vulnerable Sector Check for working with children and youth.
What you will need to complete your tutor profile
Prepare the following before submitting:
Identity and credential details
- Full legal name
- Province or territory of certification
- Certification or registration details, as applicable
- Proof of enrollment or credentialing for the additional categories above
Tutoring details
- Subjects and grades you support
- Areas of focus, for example reading, writing, math, ESL, study skills
- Experience with learning needs, for example IEP support, ADHD, dyslexia, ASD, executive functioning
- Availability, including evenings or weekends if you offer them
- Preferred modality, virtual, in person if applicable
Short professional BIO
Share what families should know about your approach. Keep it clear, human, and specific, for example how you build confidence, how you structure sessions, and what progress typically looks like.
Review and approval process
Once you submit your profile:
- We review your credentials and required documents
- If anything is missing, we will follow up with next steps
- Approved tutors are activated on the platform and can begin connecting with families based on fit and availability
