Yes. Every tutor on Connect Education is a licensed teacher in good standing who has completed a background check, and every profile is checked before it goes live. We still encourage parents to read profiles and ask questions before booking.
Create a profile with as much detail as possible. This makes it easier for teachers to learn about you and your needs and will ensure a better match. Use the filters to search for tutors that can provide what you're looking for.
Signing up is free, and you pay only for the lessons you book. Each certified teacher sets their own rate, starting at $30 per lesson virtual and $60 per lesson in person, so you can choose a teacher whose rate fits your budget.
Your availability for scheduling the tutoring dates are a criteria you set during the matching process. This ensures that the teachers you are matched with have availability during the schedule you have requested.
We discourage cancelling contracts unless necessary. Teachers must abide by their agreement to teach students. If there is a medical issue or any other issue that cannot be resolved, please go through the dispute resolution process so we can help you find a different educator. Our system does not require your child's date of birth, however we do require this for parents and teachers.

There is no limit on how many lessons you can book or extend with your teacher. Your plan is built around your child. Your certified teacher creates a personalized one-on-one learning plan based on your child's goals, so how many lessons you book depends on what your child needs. Reschedule in the app up to 48 hours before the lesson at no cost. Cancel more than 24 hours before the lesson and there is no charge; cancellations within 24 hours are charged 50% of the lesson rate, which goes to the teacher. Read the full Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.
While we strive to match students with qualified tutors, we cannot guarantee that a tutor will be available to meet at a specific location, in-person preferences, or other specialized requirements. Availability is subject to the tutor's location, teaching capacity, and schedule. We encourage flexibility in choosing either online or in-person options to increase the chances of finding the best match.
Joining our community of certified teachers is simple. Set up your account, and upload your teacher credentials. Our platform is exclusive to licensed teachers in good standing.
Your certificate must qualify you to teach in a public or private school.
You have complete autonomy on how to set your prices.
Payments for lessons completed will be received by E-transfer. Please ensure your account information is always up to date. Funds will be released to you at the end of the contract or on the 30th of every month. Lessons that take place later than 5 days prior to the payment date will not be included in that particular payment.
We need an accurate date of birth in order to verify your credentials.

You can select the locations and range of where you want to teach in your profile. All of your student matches will be within your chosen location range.
Once the payment has been processed, the contract for the services begins. We ask parents to carefully review and select the teacher they want to work with to avoid the dispute resolution process. However, if a parent or student decides that they want to cancel a contract, they will need to open a ticket with support and follow the dispute resolution process. Each teacher sets their own schedule and availability.
Ensuring the safety and security of your documents is a top priority for us. Our system is designed to encrypt and safeguard any documents you submit. Additionally, we adhere to strict privacy policies and only use your information for the purpose of verifying your teaching credentials. You can read more about our privacy and security policy here.
Once you get matched to a student, the schedule is mutually agreed upon by you and the parent.
Providing identification is a crucial step in our verification process, ensuring a secure and trustworthy learning environment for all users. It also helps to confirm that you are indeed the person registering and not someone attempting to impersonate you.

Connect Education does not reimburse these costs. Connect Education is not an employer, we are a marketplace platform that connects certified teachers directly with families for private tutoring. As an independent professional, you are your own boss on the platform, and each teacher is responsible for covering their own professional requirements, including the vulnerable sector check. On our side, we cover the costs of maintaining the platform, marketing, and ensuring families have access to a trusted network of vetted educators. This model allows teachers to maintain independence while benefiting from the exposure and support that Connect Education provides.
